Just had a random, sketchy looking guy in NYC's Times Square ask if I wanted "coke". I replied that no, I preferred Pepsi. He moved on. Later told by an off duty NYC cop that these dealers were exploiting some kind of jurisdictional issue. I still want a Pepsi.

Hope you had your wallet in an RFID-blocking pouch. I think they just want to get close enough to steal your identity.

Yap. That was my thought when dude got close. This comes from many ventures into Spain, where pickpockets are a dime a dozen. Wallet? Check. Phone? Check. Clueless tourists? Checked.

Brian, you have to label your sponsored tweets or else it's unethical.

Hah! You're joking right? As if Pepsi would like to mentioned in the same sentence as cocaine trafficking. Darn, I did it again!

What kinda of jurisdictional issues? And why don't they fix it?

apparently there is some kind of jurisdictional lines betwixt police precincts that bifurcates Times Square. The cop apparently thought this was common knowledge and when I pressed him about it he changed the subject. So perhaps some locals could shed some light here, idunno.

Blows my mind. That's the problem, the good guys always have rules that have to be followed. The bad guys don't.

I’m having a hard time authenticating your story. No one ever asks for a Pepsi, no matter how many times Kendall Jenner offers.....

I was in Times Square today as well. Was asked if I wanted a photo with Cookie Monster or The Naked Cowboy. I prefer either Coke or Pepsi.
