Finally got around to deleting my Facebook account. I don't trust FB, and I don't want to tacitly encourage other people to trust it. Anyone who wishes to reach out, please either or twitter (DMs open) or Wickr: krebswickr. Thanks.

This site claims to offer a vaccine for the 2019-nCoV "Coronavirus". And it only costs you .1 BTC (~$1,000)! Bet we'll see a few more of these, maybe even with better grammar. Experts say it will probably be at least another year before a real vaccine is available.

To be clear, I'm not trying to delete my own data or things I might have posted to FB. I want to discourage people from sharing really sensitive information via this medium when I can't have any hope of feeling like I can protect that expectation of trust.

I should add that the main reason I deleted the account is many people seem to think this is an okay way to share sensitive information. It is not.

The claim in the FTI forensics report on Bezos’ iPhone that, “due to end-to-end encryption employed by WhatsApp, it is virtually impossible to decrypt the contents of the downloader [.enc file]...” bugged me so much that I coded up how to do it:

I don't believe I've ever seen an approach to countering debit card fraud involve blocking card use in the entire state of California before (including Facebook, Apple, Netflix, etc). Anyone know what prompted this? Perhaps something to do w/ the upcoming new Joker's Stash batch?
