Obama worked within the system and preserved private insurance with the ACA and the GOP still decried it as socialism. Any further reform, however incremental, is bound to be controversial at first too. So may as well go big & argue the issue in moral terms, not political ones.

Morality to Republicans... would be like preaching in the desert.

I think having a single government insurer with no other privately administered options is bad policy, bad morally, AND bad politically. I still support universal COVERAGE though through expanded government programs and mandatory automatic enrollment.

What purpose do insurance companies serve? Why are we paying them so much money? If you want to keep buying the CEOs of United Healthcare and Blue Cross yachts & luxury vacation homes, go right ahead. Fed up giving them my money when they do nothing but fight against your health

But some policy analysis and debate internally would be nice too tbh

I’m very tired of this suppression effort to silence democratic voices that aren’t for 70% tax rates, free college and free Medicare for everyone. Do you want to win or do you want to pontificate ? neither warren nor Bernie will be the nominee of this party. I gurantee you.

Hopefully you're not going to vote for Kamala either since she has signed on to most of these policies

Why not say "Affordable healthcare for all" as the platform. Medicare for all is financially not viable, but easy for people to understand. How you get all Americans covered affordably will be complicated and need to include private and public options.

I have seen Medicare spend over $100,000 on 7 days of procedures on family members over 90 years old who were terminal with DNRs Medicare is not a plan if this is how they operate !

Obama opponents played their regular game and reduced the ACA to ‘socialism’& ‘death panels’. While Max Baucus allowed the industry to carve out their own interest. Time to end the lies about the ACA. It’s the new start point & we have a ways to go.

I have to say, it's a sad, sad day when we can divide moral terms from political ones.
