Are these from actual children? If so, they’re pretty amazing.
That Hayley’s gonna do just fine.
None of these are wrong
Not one
Hayley is a savage
Kate, 12 is the real savage...

Hayley is extremely perceptive.
Hayley knows how the world works.
And hopefully, Hayley will grow up to change how the world works.
Hayley gets it
Hayley is bang on
I love Kate, age 12 lol
I think it is really sad that this is what children have seen and noticed. These quotes are from a tribute to Nelson Mandela, and he used politics to transform the world. I'd love to change the narrative - there ARE politicians passing good laws, working hard to protect the weak.
there's a reason that's what they've noticed though. it's mostly what happens
I think it depends on what we think 'politics' is - it is true we do see too many selfish and self-seeking politicians in the news, but we don't see the many unselfish ones working quietly behind the scenes nationally and locally. I have met and know some and admire them.
yeah because there's fewer of them and if they stop enabling the selfish ones they don't make it very far
i agree we need to shift our idea of what politics is, but we should do that by having fewer politicians so that politics can be a thing that *people* do again
I think the answer to that could be pretty simple. Government operations has nothing to do with politics. Politics are more personal like values and principles. These personal politics should have zero bearing on governing the masses. Too bad they do though...
uhh it has everything to do with politics. government operation in many cases literally can make a difference between life and death. the only reason some people are hesitant to call it politics is because it means you have to treat e.g. corporations as political actors too
