One would know about oneself. The ritual of mila is very central to our identities as Jews. It is the sign of our covenant. It is not mutilation and it is not statistically harmful. Would you also impose your values on Maasai, Fulani, Lahu, and Mursi?
As the sign of the covenant, why are girls not circumcised? Why are they excluded from the "central identity" custom of Jews? Clearly, it is possible to have the full identity of a Jew without having one's genitals cut: see all Jewish women.
