This letter--remember it is a LETTER--was published in the UK journal Therapy Today. Under pressure from trans activists, the organisation APOLOGISED for publishing it. The implications of this are ominous. /1 pic.twitter.com/o4TGT6WmAn

Giving space to both sides of a debate is one thing, but the letter came directly from an anti-transgender propaganda group and provides nothing to substantiate its position other than emotional manipulation. It should not have been published.

It’s an area I’m just beginning to research - I’m more in an information gathering stage than a thought-promulgating stage. But it definitely touches on my work w childhood genital surgeries so I’m interested

I'm very glad you're thinking about it! I read some of your recent articles on circumcision and considered reaching out to you because there is certainly some overlap. I look forward to whatever you may bring to the conversation at some point

People I have seen often have a fantasy that transitioning would make them into a “new person,” free of all the old difficulties. The social contagion aspect relates to the availability of the trans narrative as a compelling solution to pain and distress. http://quillette.com/2018/03/01/transgenderism-social-construction-diagnosis/ …

Worth considering that even the Tavistock Clinic in London ( the UK's only children's gender clinic) is proposing more research because clinical evidence for outcomes of treatments is lacking.pic.twitter.com/wt7gH049WE

Not phobia, concern for the rush to transition youth ....most of whom if left to grow up would grow up to be gay/lesbian/bisexual. So how is urging greater caution taken as homophobia? Seen any young butch lesbians these days? No? They’re on testosterone now. Health risks?
