This is bollocks.
Having highlighted an article on #FGM I am berated for not balancing it with foreskin. Fuck off my thread. Start your own. Show me your fight and I will admire it.
When did everyone become a whiny skirt surfer?

This is absolutely fucking ridiculous - the reasons behind FGM and male circumcision are COMPLETELY different. People are absolute idiots.

One of them (FGM) is about eliminating the ability for women to get pleasure from sex. The other is not.

What you’re describing is a stereotype about a subset of FGM in some communities; the reasons for female and male genital cutting in societies that practice both in parallel as rites of passage (the typical case) are usually similar https://muse.jhu.edu/article/622485/pdf …

The thing is, if I was king of the world, I’d probably say “look, can we just leave everyone’s genitals alone please? Yeah, just stop cutting pieces of people off, it’s weird...thanks...nice one”. But I have to admit, I do find it deeply strange that guys are SO insistent.....

...that male circumcision must be discussed EVERY TIME anyone mentions FGM. It seems very much like an agenda is being pushed.

Well, I can’t speak for anyone else, but the agenda I find most admirable in this area is the one focused on protecting all children from medically unnecessary genital cutting.
@beccasteinfeld and I offer some arguments for this approach herehttps://www.researchgate.net/publication/316527677_Gender_and_genital_cutting_a_new_paradigm …1 reply 6 retweets 14 likes
When MGC is framed as “more acceptable” or “less harmful” than FGC regardless of severity of the latter, defenders of more ‘minor’ FGC begin to defend their practice on those grounds. But it’s not about degree of harm or reasons. It’s about consent. http://blog.practicalethics.ox.ac.uk/2017/08/does-female-genital-mutilation-have-health-benefits-the-problem-with-medicalizing-morality/ …
