Why is knowing something like sexual preference of the author important to his work? It might influence his opinion on certain matters but since when has lived experience bolstered any philosophical argument?

I think I understand the intent of the thing:Provide a database of philosophers with certain traits perceived as stigmata which enables them to take a unique perspective that others are lacking. Reading their work thus enables the "normies" to gain a new perspective.

Am I so out of touch with reality if I think that all those categories are irrelevant to philosophy?
