I wanted to learn to use Scrivener to write a book, but it doesn't seem to have an easy way of adding a Zotero button, which is how I do all my references. So. I guess it's back to Word ...

Sorry. You summon the nerds when you say anything about text editors :) You could have someone else install everything for you, but it's probably not a good idea to depend on a setup that you can't fix by yourself.

You'll do fine with Word. Maybe keep the chapters in separate files to keep things clean & smooth.
