I wanted to learn to use Scrivener to write a book, but it doesn't seem to have an easy way of adding a Zotero button, which is how I do all my references. So. I guess it's back to Word ...

I much prefer to use Markdown, but you can use the BetterBibTeX plugin in Zotero to get a Zotero citation picker you can call from anywhere (including in Scrivener) to insert scannable cites for the Zotero ODF Scan plugin.

You mean without a dedicated plugin for the specific text editor? How?

Wow, that's great! Thanks, I'd been using BBT for years & I didn't know this was possible.

The link has too much code type stuff for me to understand

Are you on Mac or Windows?

Okay, here is the relevant stuff for Scrivener on Mac. Install the Scannable Cite applet into AppleScripthttps://github.com/davepwsmith/zotpick-applescript/blob/master/README.md …
