Yes this is such a great point! life so much better when, w bond of trust w ur friends, u can be exposed 2 & wrestle w all sorts of ideas & keep digging down 2 find the most robust against critique, & don’t worry in meantime about trying a thought that might be dumb or unpopular

Yeah, I find that I can see other people's views more charitably if they're friends, and even if I still don't end up agreeing with them, it helps me understand exactly why I disagree more clearly than I did before.

I find meeting people in person helps immensely. Then again, certain people are so terrible online that you probably wouldn't want to, even if they're decent people in real life
