this is hard to look at no matter where you set the commas
Having someone give thanks to Ayn Rand is bad, but coming across their actual offspring is worse (imho).
The greatest debate since the chicken and egg.
I can imagine more pressing catastrophes in interpretation than a breakfast scenario LOL
It's a subtle art - the decision in each individual case whether to use, or not use, the Oxford comma...
People really, REALLY care about commas :o
I wonder whether, if commas didn’t count towards your character count on Twitter, they would be used more frequently? ,,,,,
Never seen an example where this actually makes a difference in how a sentence would be understood by a reader. Context, or just the experience of living in a world where people usually don't talk to toast, takes care of it in 99% of cases. The rest could just be phrased better.
Lolz sure but if it's the case that people are genuinely getting confused on whether you might be addressing your soggy toast or not then there are bigger issues at play...either with them or you've given them reasons to not put that past you.
...I still don't give a fuck about it
A fun argument, the definition of contextual.
That's somewhat artificial
