Hate to say it but kind of agree with Nate here even in places that take covid seriously like here in nyc it’s hard to have confidence in anything we are doing because it all seems contradictory or counter productive

Also a data situation that’s constantly evolving but yes, “infect everyone” is much simpler to understand.

I dunno about the original poster but eradication of the virus and for metric of success it's reduce R0 to less than 1 and keep it there for a sufficient duration.

Telling Americans not to travel to Canada because of the Covid risk there is not a serious attempt to mitigate anything - it's just a knee-jerk, bureaucratic response to Canada's daily case load crossing an arbitrary threshold, one that ignores vax rates and positive-test rates.
