The argument for the electoral college makes perfect sense. If it's 1800. Everyone has the same access to information now and Virginia doesn't control all the power.

Eliminate the electoral college and it will be the same except the election will be decided by the five largest cities and the needs of the rest of the nation will be ignored because pandering to the mega population centers will be the only way to win elections.

The Electoral college coupled with gerrymandering guarantees that the FEW can rule over the many overturning the very idea of democracy. They are hell bent on getting back to the 1920s. They want a Depression to prove the Free Market is the answer.

That's the way the Founding Fathers crafted their 'democracy.' Safeguard the interests of those sitting on the power bases while the unwashed think they have choices. The Electoral College is the biggest con in American history and they're still falling for it.
