people have a personal connection to art. they dont know this lady or her business, so its much easier to "cancel" something you were never a part of. i agree with your sentiment though

Yeah I get that, I know that it's not the easiest thing to do. It's mostly baffling that people pretend to not even understand the concept when it's their faves
-
people put blinders on when it comes to admitting someone that they follow is flawed, because they dont wanna admit they were wrong for following them. its an ego thing. its not just in music. we do it in politics, church, anywhere with a leader/follower dynamic
-
That’s a great take. I’ve been trying to put that into words for a while. Human nature is.... interestingpic.twitter.com/ufyho9vxV0
-
i also wanna point put that some people are able to differentiate between art and the artist. Biggie did some fucked up shit, but i’ll be the first to pop on Suicidal Thoughts when i’m going thru it. that’s just my take
-
But where’s the line? Could you separate person from product if it was discovered they were a child rapist? Grand Wizard in the KKK? If they harmed someone close to you? To me this trait is a disturbing lack of empathy. Their bad acts don’t directly affect us so we refuse to care
-
i see what you’re saying and i think the issue comes in the fact that, in accepting their art, you’re inadvertently supporting them.

It’s hard for people to hold their celebrities accountable. It’s an issue
-
Believe it or not but there are a few of us out here that hold our “faves” accountable for their wrong doings yet still are fans....

Cause anyone can do what she does. No one can do what your favorite artists do.
-
yes they can. find new favorite artists. its that simple
-
That’d be ideal, but I’m simply pointing out that there’s a major difference between people giving up a random dime a dozen business they have no connection to or need for vs giving up some uniquely talented music/art they enjoy and can not replicate elsewhere.
