With Goog and msft both opening LLM APIs AWS’s cloud market share could quickly be challenged. A new battle is on among the biggest tech businesses in the world. 🌩️

Replying to @mathemagic1an
So now that both Azure and GCP have LLM APIs, what will AWS do?

Yup. Founders - have you seen this magic yet? When I was a founder no one built great finance software. We used SVB and BofA. Y’all lucky in 2023

To be fair, operations are very hard in these storm conditions (of course it rained constantly when I lived in AMS and GVB trams still slayed). American cities say “ride uber, it’s 3x faster even today 😞

Yup. My hot take: post-war offices have always sucked and the best offices feel more like homes

If new office buildings looked more like this, and were located in the heart of walkable neighborhoods instead of dreary central business districts or office parks, more people would want to go to the office!

I’m so tired. I’m just gonna buy a giant SUV as long as I’m living in America. Park wherever TF I want. Given low enforcement, the few tickets a cost of doing business. It’d cost me what - mayyybe $2k extra per year? To store my climate controlled living room anywhere I want

Remember the food dividend we all received when VCs were subsidizing meal kit and food delivery? The Design Dividend is just beginning. It won’t just be limited to folks living in the Bay Area. And big tech funding this dividend has way more capital than VCs

(i'm doing one of those 🤮 self-help twitter engagement threads) First, i-bonds are great because interest is guaranteed AND you don't pay taxes on the interest until you sell! That means your principal & interest grow tax free. Its like a Roth IRA But that $10k limit..

The car on the left has a gas engine and gets 20 MPG. It has 21 miles of electric range. It gets a $7,500 EV Tax Credit. The car on the right is ELECTRIC ONLY and gets 113 MPEe. It has 330 miles of range. IT DOES NOT GET A $7,500 EV TAX CREDIT.

Out in the burbs for family holiday celebrations. Question: is it always the case that giant pickup trucks disproportionately drive at the highest speeds on the highway? My 20 min sample of over a dozen trucks says so. Quite shocking

. should act fast to welcome & codify this adaptive use of our office glut in downtown San Francisco. I don’t agree with Elon on most things, but providing this amenity for employees (especially visiting employees) is a good thing. San Francisco is open for biz

Look, with AI, San Francisco’s NiMBY supervisors won’t even need to write their own speeches about why the entire western half of the city should be perpetually covered with nothing but 16 ft tall, low density, 1950s stucco boxes.

With today’s advancements in AI, San Francisco supervisors no longer need to write their own tweet storms about maintaining the status quo of dangerous streets like Valencia where car drivers regularly run over people walking and biking

Few things are more backwards than the USA’s policies towards high skilled labor. We are telling a whole bunch of productive, talented folks to pack their lives and leave the US in 60 days just because they lost their job. We want these folks!

TLDR; no wonder America builds the majority of modern civilization-defining companies. It sure is nice to live in europe tho. The trains work, the cheese is cheap, and people seem less stressed. The axiom stands: Live in Europe, invest in America

Startups often have less than a year of runway (cash in the bank/monthly operation costs) That $600k is 6 months of runway for a go-forward team of the 10 Many great companies have been built after these mid-flight course corrections. But NL law crushes that possibility

Startups are like jumping off a cliff & building a plane midair before you crash into the ground. Often markets change or your hypothesis was wrong and you have to make massive RIFs (reduction in force) to survive. Cutting a team of 10 in NL making 100k could easily cost $600k

Note: it has been concluded that the middle that landed in Poland was a Ukrainian defense missile. Attempting to stop the over 100 missiles Russia aimed at Ukrainian civilians. The response should not change. Give Ukraine the tools to cripple Russia’s missile offense

I don’t think NATO should attack. But I hope we have long range missiles staged nearby to quickly gift to Ukraine so they can defend their citizens and push Russia back into their dark hole

I disagree with the US govts decision to limit the range of missiles we provide to Ukraine to defend their country. We should give them the tools to retaliate against every base and resource in Russia used to execute these terrorist attacks
