Tonight I may have accidentally discovered that there's a beheading in Shakespeare's King John. Which I discovered flipping through the Globe's Illustrated Shakespeare with my 5 year old neice. So whoops.

Since people are super worried about whether white Americans are even allowed to write about Mexico, here is a thread about white Americans and Brits who wrote amazing books about Mexico admired by Mexicans. So if you want to begin with white writers to learn about Mexico, read:

It's sad that we never got a Queen Super Bowl halftime show. It's a stage that was clearly made for Freddie.

People keep pointing out that today is a palindrome in day-month and month-day formats, but I’m learning that more people need to write their dates yyyy-mm-dd. Because 2020-02-02 or 20200202 are ALSO palindromes, but they meet the ISO standard and actually sort properly as text.

"Critics are complaining that I am appropriating white middle-aged woman culture with this novel. Look, am I a middle-aged white woman? No. But did I interview dozens of middle-aged white women to learn about their struggles and experiences? Also no."

Although people claim that cataloging is uninteresting to the general public, the regular and continued existence of hot debates such as "is a hot dog a sandwich" handily disproves this nonsense In this, my classification of internet classification-memes, i shall describe

I know not everyone feels secure doing this but a few years ago I stopped checking email evenings and weekends and I’ve been loving setting those boundaries. Our time and work need to be respected. I hope to help my staff feel secure & supported doing this too.

Why do people always look at young people when a phone rings in a meeting. Lord knows millennials haven’t had their ringers on since 2010.

It’s been really interesting to see a consistent theme regarding collection is about explaining how data will be used, why data is being collected, and who will see it.

I’ve been thinking about this - from the story of David and Goliath - all day. Saul tried to put his armor on David, but David said “I can’t go in these. I’m not used to them.” When you are walking in your purpose you have to go as yourself. Not in anyone else’s armor.
