Throughout the UK, local councils are likely to be more expensive and more corrupt if they do not have a strong opposition presence scrutinising the ruling councillors and holding them to account:

A lot of you told me you are especially dissatisfied with Labour-run Council. I hope you will consider voting in the next local council elections to elect a few more of your neighbourhood Conservative candidates as opposition councillors (or even standing yourself as one).

A big thank you to the 10,909 residents who voted yesterday: our best result in this constituency's 10-year history. I know from emails and doorstep conversations that many of you were previous Labour supporters voting Conservative for the first time.

Let's show the current hard-left Labour party we're not afraid of them. Brent Central belongs to all the residents - it is not the monopoly of any one party. Every resident should come out and vote today and make your voice heard.

Labour councillor Muhammed Butt said to one of my volunteers wearing her rosette in 's Tokyngton ward this morning: "You're brave..." Was the inference that Conservatives ought to be too intimidated to campaign in what he considers 'Labour territory'?

How does the song go - "The weather outside is frightful... but this is England and we're all used to it"? Time for a change in ; please come out and vote today. Polling stations are now open until 10:00pm.

Last day of campaigning in before the election. Please make sure to come out and vote tomorrow 12th. You can vote even if you don't have your polling card with you; and if you have a postal vote you can still hand it in at the polling station tomorrow.

A mix of door-knocking and getting out our last one-thousand leaflets with volunteers today in . Again we found a significant number of former Labour voters telling us they will vote Conservative on Thursday 12th December - some for the first time ever.

Here are five reasons on why voting Conservative is the only way to stop Labour winning in Hampstead and Kilburn. I’ll be that positive, One Nation Conservative. Lib Dem’s have no chance and are polling 3rd. We can do this. – bei Hampstead Heath London Overground Station

The most humbling thing about this campaign has been the warm regards I and my volunteers have been getting on the doorstep from Brent Central’s Jewish voters. So many have told us they are genuinely afraid and ready to leave the country if Corbyn and his followers take power.

Door-knocking in today from 10.30am to 4pm, I had conversations with 94 voters, 56 of whom told me they will vote this time, including several lifelong Labour voters who said this will be the first time they have ever voted Conservative.

Out from dawn till dusk with local volunteers delivering leaflets: some 3,000 through the doors of voters in Kensal Green today. Quite a few residents have even said they'll vote for me simply because they haven't seen any of the other candidates here.

Well done and thank you to all our local volunteers getting our leaflets out across in the cold weather today. According to my phone, I walked 16 kilometres today leafleting Dudden Hill and Willesden Green. Almost there!

A good day knocking on doors from one end of 's Mapesbury ward to the other, with volunteers. Only one Labour voter yelled abuse. Everyone else very polite: many Conservative residents wished us well for 12 December, and we persuaded a few swing voters.
