In writing about values for development teams the one word that always comes to my mind is humility. For me, a part of humility is about being mindful that dev work can either bring down or elevate others (other devs, QA, Design, Product, Business, and customers).

To those of you wondering what it's like in the Pacific NW right now, I grew up in Florida without A/C. I played sports under the blazing summer sun. And it was nothing like what I have experienced these past two days.

I've put up a new company website, with information about how you can hire me for code reviews, pair programming, and coaching. I was a senior Apple engineer until recently, so it's a little like a private WWDC lab, which I say as humbly as possible.

The current generation of Mail Pilot is the most stable set of apps I've ever worked on, and a huge part of that is because it simply doesn't use threads anymore. has a great writeup on the topic:

On June 30 is a set of Audible talks on “How We Test and Release Features at Scale.” Hint: it’s different from how the average indie app does things — you might find it quite interesting! You also might decide to apply for a job and be my co-worker. 🚀

The new update 6.0 is absolutely stunning. With iCloud sync this is hands down one of the best iOS apps out there. Long live RSS.

NetNewsWire 6 for iOS now ready for sale! Congratulations to the team! 🎩🐯 It may take some hours to propagate on the App Store, so if you don’t see 6.0 yet, you will. Just give it some time.

Please... designers, for the love of gawdddd... stop making UI that moves around. We all develop muscle memory and when UI starts to jump around, it messes with my head and leads to frustration!
