Two tales of two men dealing with criminal cases of violence against women. Sills is white & Mixon is Black. Two stories covered & consumed differently. I will never defend Mixon as a man. I will never defend his character, but his Blackness should be defended & protected.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but employers don’t need to wait for court verdicts to terminate their employees. Coaches don’t need to wait for court verdicts to terminate athletic eligibility. Universities don’t need to wait for court verdicts to expel students.

#JoshSills should be trending. The Eagles should be answering questions and so should the colleges that Sills played for from 2019 at the time of the sexual assault/kidnapping and after.

"The crime was immediately reported, and the Guernsey County Sheriff's Office conducted a detailed investigation," Reported & investigated in 2019. Why is he just now being indicted in 2023?? We deserve answers & . Hard to believe you didn’t know…

Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Josh Sills was indicted on rape and kidnapping charges on Tuesday, two weeks before the football team plays in the Super Bowl. The charges stem from an alleged 2019 incident, when Sills was still in college. n.pr/3RmAMv3

It’s either Black women are invisible & erased… they’re the saviors or expected saviors… or they are to blame for everything. The gaslighting, shaming, blaming and misogynoir that Black women deal with is like…incomprehensible. I don’t even have the words. Just wtf.

.@WhitlockJason As a black man to get on national tv and say something like this is irresponsible. A lot of amazing kids have come from single mothers. For you to also undermine single black women in the midst of this tragedy is so sad. This woman just lost her son! Do better!

The war on women & girls is completely out of control. And no, girls should not quit sports in protest. That won’t fix anything. What WILL work is if boys quit playing sports in support of the girls.

Imagine telling a Black man that you can call him a racial slur bc your boyfriend is Black and then LAUGH when he says you’re being racist. She needs to fired and Dr. Jenkins needs to be compensated.

I can't believe the racial violence I experienced at @Marriott by the front desk staff. She said I was "suspicious" & called me a racial slur. Then said her boyfriend is black, so it's okay. And laughed when I told her it was racist. Seriously, @MarriottBonvoy @MBonvoyAssist

It’s hard not to laugh at this PR spin - Using the family as an actual shield - Avoiding the word Briles in the actual tweet to skirt SEO - Late tweet announcement - No presser/explanation/discussion of accountability TCU could’ve managed this in an upfront way. They haven’t.

Used to be, the easiest feat in the world was to declare oneself morally superior to Baylor. But year by year, hire by hire, those who seemed so sure they'd never overlook what Baylor did keep doing exactly that. expressnews.com/sports/columni via @expressnews

Correction: a woman created the bill and a majority men passed it, but thank you to the men in my comments who so “kindly” pointed this error out to me while managing to still lend credibility to my overall point. (Misogynists just can’t help themselves)

Hiring staff of character matters. If you don’t focus on high quality staff that will set expectations around behavior & interpersonal violence - you will absolutely end up in a scandal. People will be harmed. Mark my words. It’s not a matter of if - it’s when.

Athletic Directors, Who you hire matters more now than ever. College sports has always had an issue w violent athletes & coaches who enable violence or are perpetrating themselves. The NCAA has enabled it & now NIL & it’s billions of dollars has poured gasoline on that fire.

And after all of these years of him being hired over and over and over again - despite his unwillingness to hold himself accountable or prove that he’s changed - I guess my question now is Why would he hold himself accountable when no one else will?

it’s not just about the victims & perpetrators. It’s about all of the ppl around them. WE decide what culture we live in. Kendal has never taken accountability for his part in contributing to & maintaining a culture at Baylor that resulted in multiple lives being destroyed.

and complicit in their inaction. So.. if women & those most affected can’t fix the problem - do you think the 10% will help? No, of course not. So, who does that leave? It’s leaves the 90%. Once a man decides who he is, the 90 or the 10 - that’s when you can

Second, Most sexual violence is committed by men, but most men don’t commit sexual violence. It’s about 10% of men doing these things & 90% of our men are “good guys”. The problem within the 90% is too many men are complicit in their silence

For context, in my sessions I talk about men as the solution to sexual violence & then I tell them why I know this. First, if women alone & groups most affected by sexual violence could fix it - we would’ve already done it.

Kendal ended up at University of Houston with Coach Applewhite. By this time I had been railing against Art and Kendal being hired by anyone at any school in a very public manner. I had multiple discussions w Applewhite about why he would hire Kendal. Long story short,
