I think this is an important part of the misunderstanding. Yeah, my formal training in maths is quite poor, but when I'm moving stuff around and manipulating programmatic structures, experimenting with patterns and motifs and light in my art, I feel like I'm touching mathematics.

I've met far too many people in the STEM fields who see the arts and humanities as a total waste of time. Worse, I've met a lot of businesspeople and managers who agree with that sentiment. 😣

Drawing this back to the original topic: A lot of people seem to take the *language* out of *programming language*, and forget that *language* — communication, expression, the written word — is the part that makes it human.
