Trouble is if you want to the call that from another lang. You then have to handle two runtimes. It’s ok if It’s for application logic though, not so much for cross-language reusable functionality.
I have actually used fork() for parallel ocaml in practice.

Yes, and that's why I'd recommend F# and/or C# over OCaml for a company, even though I like OCaml better as a language.
