Strongtalk almost pulled it off, but the type system was not very strong and felt bolted on

Doing it right would mean exposing the type system itself for reflection and interactive exploration - not sure what it would look like

Interactive theorem provers like Lean or Agda kind of have a hint at that kind of feeling. Still a ways off the mainstream though. Lean's metaprogramming is quite cool, but still needs lots more polish.
