CS Degree != Programming school. I wish this myth would die. There is overlap, but it damages both to conflate them.

Are you saying that the number 60% is misleading because it includes folks who did other software degrees?

That may be true, but also the industry focuses disproportionately on CS degrees so I think it's the right number to use.

I'm agreeing with you. And lamenting the pressure to turn good theoretical CS courses into practical job training.

Folks hiring CS students with misguided expectations, and students applying for CS for the wrong reasons due to misplaced marketing.

That said, I'm not advocating for more barriers between industry and academia, just more understanding and appreciation on both sides.
