Loading the functions at run time is pretty much a requirement if you want your code to be portable ;)

It doesn't help that I'm pushing Rust's parametric polymorphism to the limit with lmath. I've uncovered lots of critical bugs.

yikes. Anyway, most of us don't see Rust as competing in the same space as Go. Go: productivity? Rust: high performance, safety.
