Yes we put too much emphasis on calculus! Which is not just a problem for people in CS (who could benefit more from stats or algebra) but also deters a lot of potential students who don't feel like they are "math people"

All the stuff I learned at school was like wrote learning and memorisation, or puzzle solving, which I know some people like, but I find it far more interesting and exciting when you can toy around with stuff and be creative and explore in a vast, abstract construction set.
