I'm tired of the relitigation of whether people should be able to write their code comments or identifiers and interact with their machines in the language of their choosing. The answer is yes.

Under all of this is a genuinely interesting question about whether code (as we use that word today) is even an appropriately localisable format for international collaboration on program development, but none of those angry people are interested in asking it :(

Like... What if we separated 'name' from 'identifier'? Had languages and IDEs that could track them independently, with common naming conventions being automatically localised.

Yeah, have often wondered this! Think it could be really neat! I think Scratch might have something like this? Flipping to RTL code could be nifty too :)

Yeah, I imagined something where each variable is identified with a colour or shape on a fundamental level, with user-provided context attached to it. I guess a little Scratch-like.
