Finally got DALL-E access. It's quite beautiful but the NLU has a ways to go, which makes me feel convinced many of the prompts I've seen have been super cherry-picked after lots of prompt engineering & refinement. Still, it's very fun.

I think the one thing that I'm wary of is how it seems to erase chains of artistic influence… like, it would be great if it said where it was getting its inspiration from, what works it was drawing from. I guess you could say the same for stuff like Copilot?
Sorry just something I have been ruminating about recently, as my feeds have become inundated with this stuff :(

Like personally as an artist, when I work, even though I know that there's lots of unconscious connections that I'm making, I do at least have some idea of what influences I'm drawing from. It would be cool if AI models could at least give people access to that information.
