I keep hearing that Rust is a "large" language. Can someone explain what they mean? If you count the whole stdlib then sure, but the point is you can tell what it does from type signatures and use your reading comprehension to... read it. Unsafe aside, is Rust really large?

I do feel like Rust is pretty large… in the sense that the surface language is quite expansive and hard to elaborate into a minimal core language without a bunch of special cases and complexity.
