It's kind of weird that y'all have ranked choice voting yet there's still two major parties

Dividing up our votes into local electorates means it's harder for smaller players to get in. There's also lots of fear mongering about ‘hung parliaments’, and confusion about how preferences work (which serves the major parties).
Yeah, combining RCV with a system where you need to have a parliamentary majority (I assume that this is how the executive is formed, right?) seems odd.

Although I guess you could have a formal coalition agreement with a broad range of parties, but I think this is an awkward system if it means a new election whenever the coalition dissolves. I'd rather see different bills get different support.
But yeah it's also kind of funny that there is so much fear spread around building coalitions, when we literally have a coalition that was in government for 9(?) years.
