Yep, the Abbott government introduced this specifically to veto climate change research, and then I think Turnbull reversed that and then Morrison un-reversed it, IIRC.

So they found a way for legally meddling. I’m sometimes dumbfounded by the level of authoritarian that people here seem willing to accept.
