I am trying hard not to burn out, but all I want to do on a Saturday is figure out that inner loop invariant and forcing myself to not do that doesn’t feel like it is doing my work-life balance much good. At least right now.

Similar boat. I can't help noodling away at another dependent type system implementation on the weekend. Why am I like this?! 😵💫

I hope someone has the right advice for work-life balance, that allows bursts of work and life to flow naturally. Unfortunately for me if the pleasant flow is left unmanaged, it can interferes with obvious human needs like food and sleep. Then it’s all less pleasant.

Yeah! Interested to know if you find anything. Been trying to pick up ADHD/ASD-friendly productivity ideas (which I think impacts me), but keeping healthy is important too. For me a big thing is keeping up with interpersonal relationships, friends and family, etc.

Definitely, I would be keen on ideas that work for you. I am enjoying my new fitbit with the two hour spaced silent alarms whose purpose is to give me a rough sense of time throughout the day. The sleep tracking is also useful to stay aware of sleep duration and quality.

Oooh that's nifty. Did not know about these – maybe I should invest in one.

I wonder if there advice out there for artists and creative types that could help with this kind of thing. I did that stuff ages ago, and feel like the PL/research work has a very similar vibe.

I’m open. I even kept a regular schedule for two weeks!
