I have a question for rust-side swc users. Do you use the error reporting system of swc, or do you have your own? I'm trying to replace the error reporter with miette by @zkat__ and the output is satisfying.

It's probably a lot better maintained. Sadly I've not been able to keep on top of things – my capacity for juggling projects has diminished a great deal. I do prefer the codespan styling in many respects – I've been hoping somebody would advocate for that at some stage.

I also hear that the API for building errors is pretty nice with miette, I'm not really happy with what we have in codespan, so that's good to hear.

I prefer the codespan visual style. I'm not the biggest fan of the API but I wouldn't allow either to be at anything but one point in my codebase (to make it easier to swap out) so it doesn't matter to me what it's like.

Codespan is great, you can be proud of what it is today. It's inspired a lot of other projects!

I forgot to respond: just want to say, thanks for this. I'm glad there are other projects pushing this stuff forward as well. I was also pretty inspired by the work in rustc and codemap as well – it's a long chain of work as usual!
