I don't agree with some of the technical points on where N*Ts might be useful (there are usually better, simpler solutions to stuff like ticketing etc), but this was an interesting look at them from a YouTuber who's usually more interested in art critique:
Just finished watching this. It was long, but seemed pretty comprehensive on a sociological, economic, and technical level, analyzing why they might have emerged (following the GFC), and the fundamental flaws and issues in how these systems work:

Olsen uses the term ‘applet’ a few times which I thought was cute. But yeah I liked in particular the bits where he talks about game economies and how they learned to work differently to conventional economies, the issues around privacy, how centralisation occurs, etc.
