It's a post-apocalyptic series of books I read in high school about a bunch of cities that go around eating each other. It's seems kind of ridiculous as a premise, but yeah it has stuck with me for a long time, especially the specific moment I'm referring to.

But yeah the bit I'm thinking of is deep into the series and kind of hard to talk about. Let's just say although I'm no doubt looking back through rose-tinted glasses, the vivid, hopeful imagery Reeve wove in my mind has stuck with me decades after putting down that last book.

yes that sort of thing can have such a deep effect! i don't know if it even matters if the subject material is imperfect, just sometimes you find something in things you experience, and it stays with you.
