Had a conversation with the EFF director of technology projects about my concerns with this post. Apparently their positions on “web3” is more skeptical than the linked post suggests, so my take may have been hasty. 🧵

This is the full version of the fellowship. They emphasize communications, critically evaluating, and advising on decentralization tech, including web3. However, you can see on this post they emphasize much more interesting decentralization tech as well. eff.org/opportunities/

They’re still looking to fill this position and seems to be looking for skeptics capable of critical evaluation, and even “acid” towards web3. But take the position that, unfortunately, it’s not going away so they need someone who can advise on it.
