A thread intended to discuss process and teachable moments is now turning into "everyone is moving to Rust already so fuck you" (not even slightly relevant) and the devout Haskellers replying with "mmmm, ok, don't let the door hit you on the way out" (not super constructive).

I mean yeah, I'm not really interested in engaging with the people who are throwing a tantrum over this change. They're welcome back anytime but I wish them the utmost success rewriting their Haskell to Rust and dealing with the foibles of that ecosystem instead.

Lol yeah, I love Rust in many ways (and hope Haskell learns some stuff from them), but it's not without its own share of issues haha
I guess I'm more worried about those people coming to Rust but IDK. Can't they move to Java or something?

At the risk of coming off as uncharitable: some of them strike me as shiny-chasers, so it's only a matter of time until they do move on to something else.
