Whoa wait on macOS when I hold down a letter I get a little dialog and can type accented letters properly why did no one tell me

Yeah that's how I discovered it. Accidentally brain and got stuck typing "o" and ... low and behold.

If only I could use this to write turnstiles, gammas, arrows, and unicode box drawing characters. I'm always ctrl+cmd+space-ing, and copy pasting lol.
