“The Design of Everyday Things” discusses how we take design for granted: if we struggle to use a tool, we may think we’re *bad at using* it, when just as often, it’s *bad at being used by* us.
An explanation is also a tool—and it’s supposed to *show*, not just *show off*.

The reaction? "Wow, that person must be smarter than me."
