👎🏻 Inventing new forms of ownership to spend your money on is the height of privilege in a world where people live in poverty.

Not a fan either – inventing new forms of manufactured scarcity is not the answer to financing creative work. There are the few who will benefit, but most artists will lose out. It's also pretty saddening to see cr*ptocurrency folks using art to justify speculative bubbles. :(

I'm not sure why this a surprise? It's dominated by people from cr*ptocurrency because they're the ones with vested interest it. Art is being used to give it a veneer of acceptability, with artists boosting the currency as they buy-in, in the hopes that they might get rich too.
