Not a fan either – inventing new forms of manufactured scarcity is not the answer to financing creative work. There are the few who will benefit, but most artists will lose out. It's also pretty saddening to see cr*ptocurrency folks using art to justify speculative bubbles. :(
I agree with some of the sentiment here and I do think the space is dominated by people from crypto. It means tech > art but I think there is some interesting stuff emerging and I’m not sure that crowd should own it. The royalties model is a game-changer for artists.

I hadn’t considered royalties that much, but isn’t someone screenshotting an NFT exactly like recording a song off the radio, only with better fidelity and no annoying DJ? I don’t see how it’s going to help (yet)
