And yet there's always (or almost) a monad around

all I know is that I keep hearing that if I learn about adjunctions I'll start seeing them everywhere, which makes me a bit afraid. 😱
I guess it's a bit like nomalisation-by-evaluation… which I see lots of places now after learning it! Although for all I know somebody could have hidden an adjunction or two in there too!
