software people need to start learning about epistemology and history of science to stop the completely disorganized and repetitive arguments about what makes someone a good programmer, what language is superior, and what is and isn’t ”objectively” smart/good/bad

Some art and design history wouldn't hurt either! Hopefully so they stop getting on their high horse about X already being ‘done’ before. Yeah, that's how ideas work? We remix, recontextualise, appropriate, and reinvent old ideas all the time, and that's a good thing!

Art history would be pretty appropriate although hard to connect to software as is. Software is a weird craft with very low barrier to entry and yet extremely influential on behavioral patterns of everyone (needs high responbility but there is none)
