The Simpsons is enduring as meme material because it's shared cultural context for almost any English speaker of roughly my generation. But with its decline in quality over the years, I wonder if the Simpsons is still culturally relevant to younger people.

Lol our family couldn't stand the sound of it so we never watched it as a back in the day. I must have inherited that prejudice, haha - still can't stand them! 😅
I do understand that the early seasons were an important critique of 90s consumerism – even if that was lost on many of my peers who'd recite the lines ad nauseam at vaguely appropriate time.

My grandmother couldn't stand the voices either. Maybe it's a generational thing. I can't stand the voices (and a lot else) on Rick and Morty either but younger people seem to like that show.
