What's wrong with it from a US perspective? It's pretty normal in colloquial Australian English at least – to me it frames it as a kind of a 'light prick', rather than being something painful, to be feared I guess? 😅

Ahh gotcha, yeah might be a bit more weird on US media. I still think folks in the US could stand to watch/read more media from overseas I guess… like, that's kind of par of the course for us, constantly translating from US English to British English, etc.
