I'm wondering what can be done to get people (with enough decision power) to care about correctness and the design of their programming languages. like why are we not using sound languages?

I think it could help to provide accessible resources to budding, and existing programming language designers. Think “Crafting Interpreters“, but it introducing ways of designing and implementing your language in such a way that it avoids the pitfalls.

I guess re-reading your tweet was more about decision makers, but yeah, I think it's still important we build bridges to those who might have an interest in PL implementation, but struggle with the barrier-to-entry to the theory side of PL.

yes, you have a valid point about making things more accessible. but yeah, I meant like companies actually using better languages, because sadly people need jobs to exist.
