I'm going to be adding towns that are hopefully "nicely" connected to one another, or at least placed in a way that makes logical sense. Does anyone know of a game / software that does this, or have articles with good examples of procedural infrastructure?

I think the CityGen people had some papers on this? I also remember “Procedural generation of villages on arbitrary terrains” dx.doi.org/10.1007/s00371 had some pretty pictures, but I never got around to reading it more closely…
