I'd want it to continue trying to elaborate other stuff that does not depend on the erroneous thing. This way I don't get surprised when another, unrelated error pops up after I fix that error.

Sorry if this is stuff you already know - more just justifying my decision to choose 'produce an "error" term'! 😅 Kind of surprised more people went with stopping type checking - but perhaps not surprising since most toy type checkers are implemented monadically?
