I remember it by thinking something like: [button being pressed](which btw goes here) Button as in one of those windows 95 style dialogue buttons.

Same. This is how I kinda how I learnt to use screen and vim as well.

(Why yes, to scroll up in screen, I do swap to the copy-mode and then use the cursor to move the screen buffer up and don't actually copy anything. etc etc)
