I mean puritanism really does hurt people. Obviously they shouldn't attack you, but.. god damn it, you were just posting about "caring too much". It's not that different.

Avoiding a word because it has a sexual meaning? Uh...what should I call that if I disagree with it then? Like it might be worth it, but it's definitely in that space. I mean the overlap between gender issues and that is why sex-negative feminism was even a thing.

It would be great if men would grow up, understand consent, and not harass people (mostly women) over the name of the system they work on professionally, but that's not the reality of the world right now.

We absolutely need to improve this situation, and build a more sex-positive, inclusive, non-anglocentric, understanding global society, but until that is the norm I don't see addressing real and current harm as in conflict with those goals.
You can't just declare side effects non existent. The overall conflict might be negligible compared to the benefit, but it still exists. We still do need to actually, look at it and then decide, "Yeah, it's worth it."
